How does FUE work?

Follicular Unit Extraction works by removing individual or small clusters of hair follicles, known as follicular units. Once removed from the donor area, which may be the back of the scalp where hair is still growing well, they are carefully implanted in the areas where hair is sparse. The follicles are placed at the correct angle so they grow in the direction of the rest of your hair and in the direction of any curl.

Is FUE painful?

The doctor administers a local anaesthetic before the FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) procedure begins. The anaesthetic numbs the follicle donor area and the area where the follicles are to be transplanted to, so that you won’t feel pain during the procedure.

Later in the evening or the day after the procedure, you may have some mild soreness and some swelling in the treated areas.

Recovery

Take care of your new hair grafts by avoiding vigorous hair combing, heavy exertion/exercise, swimming, or exposing your grafts to direct sunlight. After two weeks, you can return to your normal activities.
